Greetings-

I have a dozen sites to migrate. The procedures say that "no matter what level the site is, when you restore the site, you must create a blank site at the destination without applying a template".

Do this mean that for EVERY site I'm migrating I need to create a blank site?

On the source server, there are not a dozen individual web sites, there is one. The sites have all been created in SharePoint. If I go into IIS, I don't see all these different sites; they're subsites. I'm not quite sure how to go about this. I appreciate your help!!!

Thanx

Hello,

Since you only have one site collection with one top-level website and several subsites connected to it you do not need to create more than one blank site for the new location.

Just make sure that you do not create a top-level website on the new server when you extend the virtual server.

If you use stsadm to backup you original sitecollection it will backup all the subsites aswell (if you do not manually chose the parameter not to back them up).

Regards,
Thomas
