Migrating IP Office and VMPro to a new server

Hello all,

Please pardon the noob question but I can't seem to find any information other than bits of info here and there.

I am trying to migrate the IP Office Manager and the VMPro server from a 2008 server to 2019.

I have the software installed and ready to go.

However, when I export out the mdb file from the old server and import it in to the new, there is no data...

I have tried copying over the whole directory from the old server to new, tried backing it up, but I must be missing something.

Would any one have a guide to walk me through the migration?

Export (not save) the configuration from the old one and import it to the new one. Be sure to Save and Make live on the new one after importing.

Copy the Accounts, Names, and Greetings folders. Copy the Wav files for the automated attendants.

After allowing the new VM to register to the IP 500, it will generate Accounts folders for the Users. Each sub folder will be empty. Stop the VM services, Copy and Replace the saved Accounts, Names, and Greetings folders, copy in the Wav files, and restart VM services to restore everyone's recordings and settings.

The easiest way is to backup your old voicemail. Open voicemail client, select (preferences >> backup and restore>> backup now) select all the data you want to backup. Once its done, move it to the new server and restore it.

This is if your are going to the same release. If not, you will need to upgrade the old one first then back it up.

Also, don’t forget to check the compatibility of your voicemail version with windows server 2019.
