I have Symantec Antivirus Corp. 8.0 on a server and i want to create a new server with Symantec Antivirus Corp 9.0. I am looking for the best way to implement this for the the new 9.0 server knows how the network is configured from the 8.0. SAV 8.0 has a feature called "AV Server Rollout" but i aint really sure? can you help me please

Ok what you have to do is this.

Uninstall the system center from your master server (the one with the blue arrow which you see when you go into system center, by default the first server you install the system center to.

Once you uninstall the system center you will have to reboot.

Now install the new system center for version 9, install this only, no other options, reboot.

Now go into the system center, go to server rollout and upgrade the NAV server client running on this and any other servers you have, the upgrade is pushed out during the process (you have to choose update) and then you have to reboot this and any other servers you updated to version 9.

Now you have to go around to every workstation, uninstall the NAV client/reboot, and install the new client, either manually or push it out.

Just so you know, the primary server doesn't depend on where the System Center is installed. You can install the System Center on any machine or every machine, and the primary server will still be the same: the one you right-click on and click Make Server the Primary Server.

However, you do need to reinstall the System Center because you can't control SAV 9 with the System Center from SAV 8.

If you just want to put a SAV 9 server up, and don't want to upgrade the whole network (which is what it sounds like you want), just add the SAV 9 server into the existing server group. All of the settings in the server group will be applied to it automatically.
