Hello all,

I would like to know if there is anyway to migrate everything from an existing SCSI drive to EIDE Hard drive (yes it is usually the other way!!!)

I would like take out the SCSI and put EIDE drive without losing anything. So first I have to 'clone' the SCSI drive to 'EIDE' and then replace it.

I appreciate any help to acheive the above.

Thanks
Ravi

There are tons of programs out there to do it. Norton Ghost, PowerQuest Drive Copy, etc. You pop in both drives and let the programs do their thing. Its really very simple.

Hello John,

Thanks for the info. I will try that.

Hi

I'm not sure if it will work when using XP or 2000 as O.S.
I'm curious to know if this will work, I'm interested to do it to but don't have the time to start if I know it will not work.

Unfortunately none of the drive copying, ghosting or cloning programs actually work in Windows. They all work in a DOS type environment. Some of them load a special DOS environment just for the copying purposes and some of them just need to be loaded from a boot disk. You have to check with the manufacturer's manual or website to find out which program does what and how.
