we have 1600 users and will be joining a corporate network as a child of their domain, whats the easiest was to migrate from NT4 and old servers?

Do we build new bdc 2003 server, then promote to pdc, then run dcpromo again to join the new active directory as child, will this automatically migrate the users into AD

If we then run AD on the exchange 5.5 servers will this update them to include the AD structure?

Any thought

New servers and a parralel network and then migrate users over. The only issue comes when exchange is involved.

Do what mstarrett said and buy Quest DMT if you can. I am using it now to do a corporate network and it is great. Takes most of the headaches away.

I've just done the same using the ADMT2 tool from MS. Its free, failry easy to use & migrated all users, computers, security settings & passwords for our domain..

Give it a shot.
