Migrating from Exchange 5.5 to GroupWise 6.5

We are trying in a lab setting to Migrate our Exchange 5.5 Mailboxes from Exchange installed on a Windows NT4 server to GroupWise 6.5 on a Windows 2000 Server.

Using the GroupWise Migration utility we find that the migration is very slow. We have tried direct connection using 1GB switch and NICs on both machines, but the improvement is marginal. Our current Exchange information store is over 14GB.

Has anyone tried this and found a better method?

Hi,

I have performed migrations in both directions, and it's not very fast either way. Other than making sure your infrasturcture is as fast as possible, there's not much you can do. When migrating large post offices, the only other option I have taken is to migrate a few mailboxes at a time instead of the entire post office. Not a terrible solutions since there are always training issues during a migration anyway.
