I need to move my facility from DHCP ip addressing to Static IP addressing. Is there a graceful way of doing this without disrupting services to my users. I have approx 100 PC.

Hi.
Aside from asking the obvious question (why on earth would you want to do THAT), I'll have to tell you that you'll have to visit each workstation and manually configure the IP info. ------------
Certified in absolutely nothing :)

Let me Guess?
Your getting a whole lot of IP address conflicts aren't you, and that's why your switching from static to DHCP?

The only way I there is, is to manually assign them an address.

Why, oh, why would you want the extra headache... oops, I mean administration?)

Does this have anything to do with IP Addressing from your ISP for Internet access? If thats the reason, get yourself a Firewall or ROuter that will allow you to NAT your addresses!

Good Luck!

If you do get conflicts, what operating system are you running?

Also, what version of NetWare 5 are you running (with SP's)? -----------------------------------------------------
"It's true, its damn true!"

What operating system are users on?

With windows 95/98 you can import a registry setting upon login. I use this as part of a post-ghost procedure to rename my computers based on MAC address. This allows one login script/configuration file. To assign a separate IP address based on user is also possible - but could be easier hopping from computer to computer if they are near each other.
