I have an exsting BCM 400 & BCM 450 working with codes loaded. The customer is shutting down the 400 location and moving the people to the 450. Can I get the codes from the 400 and move them to the 450? Is that just like when you actually upgrade and just get a migration code or are there other steps I need to look at. I know either way I have to send the MSC card back and I get a clean one with no codes on it.

I'd also be interested in the awsner to this. we are replacing a customers exsisting BCM50 with a new one, as their current BCM50 seems to have some issue we are unable to fix and we'd like to migrate the keycodes over

jamaster I've done that in the past. Had to buy a new BCM 50 move the codes over via Nortel KRS. Then return the old system within a certain time frame. I even got the old system back, it had a new ID and no codes but it was good to play with in the lab.

If the 400 is a 4.0 then just like you said old to new and send back MSC.if 3.7 or lower then you would need to buy a upgrade to 4.0 you don't need to do the upgrade it is just for the KRS.
On the 50 same thing you will need access to the KRS to migrate to another unit then send back old to nortel.

cook, the 400 is 4.0 and the 450 is rls 1. I'm thinking that I just need to migrate the codes to the 450 via KRS than return the MSC card of the 400 to Nortel and get a blank one bacck from them. I've got a call into my vendor now but if anyone here finds out something first please let me know.
