Hi2all!

I need a quick answer from someone experienced with migratepv command and SAN disks.
How long aprox does it take to migrate lv to another disk?
I know this is hard to answer without exact facts, but what can I expect, 20/50/100 MB/s?
Application will be powered off so no read/writes will happen.

Thanks

Best case arithmetic, assuming no co-dependancies (eg disk on different adapter, adapter on same bus, &c):

On 8Gb SAN, 10bits/byte => 800MBytes/s

At 70% utilisation bandwidth (max reasonable down one channel) => 560MBytes/s.

These are way more than a single hard drive, so now it depends on what kind of SAN storage you have - single disk or cache-fronted subsystem?

Try it out on a test LV. Your mileage will vary.
