We just recently migrated from Novell Netware 4.11 to Windows 2000 server. Since we only have 20 or so users and 5 print servers I recreated everything in AD. Everything is working fine. The only problem is user rights. In Novell it was a zip to arrange user rights. I am new to MS Active directory such as group policy objects and so forth.
Anybody care to explain. Or is there an easier way to migrate user rights from novell to win2k. I remember there used to a migration utility windiws nt4.0

I have not seen a migration utility for W2k for migrating novel rights to Active Directory. The easy way to explain active directory is that it is similar to Novell. Like novell W2k AD can have Oganizational Units (OU's). You can assing users and computers to their respective OU's and assing rights to the OU's, like you can create an OU called sales and have rights assinged to the OU of sales to allow to certain file shares, printers, etc. You do have to remember if you have an OU named Sales and it is under an OU called Company then the rights from Company will filter down to Sales. You must select "do not inherit rights" in Active Directory for that OU.

Microsoft TechNet has many articles explaining this.

Miscrosoft has a product called Microsoft Services For Netware 5.0. It is meant to allow you to operate a win2k server as part of a Netware tree but it can also be used to migrate files and users from NDS to AD. I believe it costs about $150.
