We currently have several IPO 406v2 (ver 4.2.14)deployed in our network with a VM Pro server at each branch office. To use centralized VM, would I move the existing Accounts, Wav, Names, Greeting directories from the existing servers to the centrailzed VM server, then enable Voice Networking on the IP trunk(s) and have it basically work, disregarding the callflows etc at the branch offices? Calls routed between sites currently use short codes. Also, with the Attendant position at the central site, will the call status from the branch offices be available? We don't have an advanced SCN licence. The central site would have sufficient licences for the additional load. Thanks for any suggestions.

No need for the advanced networking license if you upgrade them all to 5.0

If you think it is worth the money then you could upgrade to 6.0.18 and use vmpro 6.0.44 which have support for multiple vmpro server in a SCN.
Yo uthen can use the vmpro machines on all remote locations as a distributed vmserver.
You can also configure a backup vmpro server on the main site.

honey, i fried the IP Office !!!

Sarcasm, it's only one of the services I offer.

not to highjack or anything, but if i will have centralized VM, does all sites need preferred edition license?

No, you only need it on the site where the vmpro machine is configured.
The centralized sites do not need a license.

Thanks for your posts. I've gone ahead and upgraded to centralized VM as described above.

To enable centralized VM, I copied the contents of VM\Accounts VM\directories VM\Names VM\WAVS from the branches to the the central VM server and enabled centralized VM at the branches. No existing voicemail messages or greetings were lost.

One quirky thing was that after enabling centralized VM, the existing incoming call routes to VM at the central site stopped working. To correct this, I used a SC in the destination field, to reach the Start Point for the respective call flows, where I had been using VM:Module_Name for the destination in the past.

You might have expected this at the branches, but not at the central site.
