HI All,

I have a few SQL Server clusters that are due to moved an existing data center. They are physical but down time could be limited and actually moving the server may not be possible. I was wondering is it possible to virtualise an existing cluster to a virtual cluster?

What i was thinking was build 2 new virtual nodes, same spec, os etc and then add them to the current cluster. once complete i would fail over all resources to the virtual nodes and power down the physical nodes.

has anyone done this before and if so what steps did they take??

Thanks,

Niall
