Migrate Servers with BE 9.0

HI,

I am migrating a w2k server acting as both a DC and an exchange 2k server. I just purchased a new server and want to know if it is possible to restore a backup of the original server on top of the new one. The new server is a completely different system as far as hardware. If not does anyone have any suggestions on where to start my research?
