migrate/move password file to new updated system

Hi there:

Ok i have a quick question. I am building some new aix 5.3 systems, to migrate off the old aix 4.3 systems.

is there a simple way to migrate the passwd file/or users to the new 5.3, i dont think a simple copy can work? unless we manually re-create or restore the home dirs?

I am wander what others have done.

Hi Scott. PSD's instructions in Thread52-771961 might be what you're looking for, but there's no mention of 4.3 -> 5,3 migration. A keyword search in this forum for copy passwd might also throw up other options. HTH.
