Migrate Exchange 5.5 to GroupWise 5.5

I'm currently working on a customers site and have been asked to migrate a subsideries e-mail system from MS Exchange 5.5 to GroupWise 5.5. They want to import all messages, contacts and if possible calendar information over. Does anyone have any suggestions on the best way to go forward, hints and tips, what not to do etc. The best way that I can see is to use exmerge.exe to generate a pst for all users then import them back into GroupWise. Is this the best way to go or are there better options available.

We did something similar... kind of.

We have recently expanded our company by purchasing other companies. Our company uses GroupWise across the board. The businesses that we purchased all used Microsoft Exchange v5.5.

In order to get them all to over to GroupWise, we basically exported all Mail, Contacts, etc... to a PST file. Then we allowed the Users to use Outlook for REFERENCE PURPOSES ONLY!!!

The Users were told that GroupWise is now their primary email client and they could utilize Outlook to reference any info they may have.
