Hi,

We need advise in a cluster migration. The migration only involved the shared storage, not the servers and this is a thing we never did before.
The actual cluster :
2 win 2003 SP2 x32 Cluster node (IBM x346) with shared storage on a SCSI IBM EXP400.
We would like to move the data to our SAN (IBM DS4200) linked in Fiber Chanel.
I already added the HBA on both node (Emulex LP11000-M4) and created the LUN.
Can we stop the cluster, copy the data to the new drives, remove old drives, change the drive letters of the new drives and start the cluster like that???
Or do we have to demote the cluster, remove all SCSI stuff, create a "new" cluster and copy the data from a backup?

Thanks for any advise.

Nico

All you need to do is add the new volume as a shared resource, then robocopy all the files from the old drive to the new drive. Then change the network shares to point to the new drive. Do a last robocopy sync (in case any files changed while you did the first sync) then you can remove the old drive from the cluster.
