Might be the stupidest question ever

Ok, so I define my variable in the first frame _root.blahblah=0, on a button in the second frame- which contains a stop() - on release _root.blahblah=5 do a trace on _root.blahblah and it still equals 0...what am I missing? Have a look if my explanation is confusing.

Nevermind, it was doing what it was supposed to, but my trace wasn't set up right...thanks anyway.
