Midi not available when RDC into Sonar XL

I have a small recording studio which has Sonar 2.0 xl recording software. When the program is first installed it wants to know the Midi in/out that it would be using. Once it's setup it works fine.

Now I decided to connect to the studio pc from my home pc to do work remotly in the program. Now I can play and hear an mp3 file if I play it using Media player. When I launch the Sonar program it says choose a midi in/out, but there are no options to setup the in and out. If remote desktop allows you to see exactly whats on the other pc how come I can't see the midi iin/out drivers and set it? When I go to the studio the PC has the drivers in the program just like it was when I left! What gives?
