ok, maybe it's unrelated to this forum's topic - but i'm not so sure (and what's even worst : i cross posted this question here and in the "object oriented ..." forum)
just wondering : how would you describe middleware ?

Well this is what FOLDOC reckons ;
Software that mediates between an application program and a network. It manages the interaction between disparate applications across the heterogeneous computing platforms. The Object Request Broker (ORB), software that manages communication between objects, is an example of a middleware program.

The best thing about banging your head against a wall is when you stop.

Anything that allows vendors to disavow any of your problems and deny support.

lol ;]]] i'm supposed to handle the middleware part here - so i'll be the baaaad vendor denying support - sounds good, nothing to support anymore !
