Guys,

What's the Mitel Integrated Configuration Wizard?

We always program the 3300s without any tool other than the web interface.

Questions:

-Where can one download the MICW?
-Is a MAS server needed in order to run the MICW?
-Is it really a helpful tool?

Rergards,

Daniel

Can be dowloaded from Mitel online/softwaredownloads/3300. Its part of the main software.

No

Yes, for first time programming a system it can save quite a bit of time.(IMO)

thank you wireman, I am downloading it now to see if it can be of any help.

While taking the MCD5.0 update course I saw some interesting things that can be done from MiCW.

Daniel

I've never bothered much with the MICW but it can be very useful. It has many standard COS's that can be very helpful to less experienced programmers.

I've considered using it to import all of my .CSV Standard Forms. For example: For a 3300 with embedded mail and PRI I import approximately 40 forms, 1 at a time. The MICW could do this for me by queuing all of the forms and I could do something else that is useful while it runs.

As it stands, I don't use it, but I might someday.

What's most important is that you realise ... There is no spoon.

I have used it a couple of times and it works fine. It will allow you to program up a switch pretty quickly for a small office as it will do range programming for sets, will program up DHCP and will do a basic ARS. It also will allow the importing of .csv files as kwbMitel states which allows you to use you standard COS you have created over the years but can also be used to import user data to program the sets.

I think the issue is that people tried it early on and it was very buggy. They then determined it was no good and have not tried it again even though there has been a lot of effort put into fixes and improvents. If you ever get a change give it a whirl as I do like it for quickly setting up small 3300's.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

Thank you Loopy, I'll give it a Try with a new system and MCD 5.0.
Regards,
Daniel
