MICS can handle standard DS1, Primary Rate (q.931) DS1, or Basic Rate directly. You would need the appropriate interface card and possibly software keycodes from Nortel based on what you choose. What type of 'digital service' are you referring to exactly?
My customer signed up for a "bundle" from time warner that includes Road Runner Internet and 1 phone line. The 1 phone line is what I'm referring to. It comes off as a T/R pair off of the Road Runner router.
If it's coming out of the router analog (hook up a regular phone to it), then the Norstar will see it as a regular POTS line. If it is digital, it won't work straight into the Norstar.
Thanks for your replies. As it turns out, yes, it is compatible. Curly... One of those 3 analog lines is dedicated for fax so I'm not adding it to the KSU. Now the KSU has three lines. 2 with ATT and 1 with Time Warner.
Hi FratorPR, Here is what I have run into using Time Warner Cable VOIP.
It seems that if you have supervised disconnection turned on in programming on the line that Time Warner will be connected to the line will not disconnect when the caller hangs up. Also if you get a call waiting beep while on the line you will get disconnected as it should do when the caller hangs up. I have spoke with Time Warner cable about this and one tech assured me it could be fixed with a different modem but the service techs usually only carry a Motorola Modem. I have ran into this problem a few times but lucky enough it has been in cases where the lines where just extras and not needed for voicemail and I turned the supervised disconnection off in programming.
If you have supervised disconnection on that line I am wondering if it will happen for you. I have service in NC.
