Did any of you figured out if there is a way to read/write the cics software cartridge from a notebook (pcmcia slot) ?

Why are we interested in doing that? Not sure I see a reason. Are you talking of making a bootleg copy of software? Bad idea to even put the effort into. Though I'm sure people do it. darnold@americaii.com

I just don't see that many bad PCM/CIA cards, if it's to protection you are after. Those that are defective usually turn up pretty early in an installation and result in a vendor replacing them quickly.

More likely you have sofware that needs to be updated with a better Working Issue because of Nortel software programming problems. darnold@americaii.com

My question was mostly motivated by curiosity. But I admit that if I could copy the firmware of one of the units I stock, I would try to update my own home cics software to unlock the internal rad, as the 2 I have in stock are configured for 8x24, rad unlocked...

And I am surprised I can't see any docs about those flash ID243f10 cards on the internet.

Let's put this clear: Goal is not to resell pirated software. I wouldn't want to get nortel in bankrupcy (like if they need help for that).
Just kidding. Just something I wouldn't do, too risky.#-)
