Hello, we have an MICS 0x32. Loudspeaker paging and music on hold have worked fine forever (like 15 years). After a recent power failure which was longer than the ups held for, now, the music on hold doesn't work, and the loudspeaker paging doesn't work.

Have tested the m on h source, it is fine. Have tested the loudspeaker page amp, it is fine. Everything else works including paging to sets only or to all zones (just comes out of sets though). Have done a couple of complete power cycles to no avail.

Wondering if anybody has had any simular experiences or any ideas on a fix ? Thank you !

If nothing has changed in programming, change the KSU?

Have you tried pulling the wire from the music source off the punch block and clipping a buttset onto it and listening to see if there's any audio coming from the music source?

Have you tried connecting your tone generator to the moh position on the punch block to see if you could hear your toner when on hold?

Have you tried disconnecting the telephone system page output from the amplifier input and listening to the telephone page output with your buttset in monitor while someone is making a page to see if anything's coming from the phone system?

Have you tried putting your tone generator on the input of the amplifier to see if the tone is coming out of the loudspeakers?

If not, try these simple troubleshooting steps before messing with the KSU.

Divide and Conquer.

Sounds like a Power Surge which damaged the possibly already weak KSU however small chance it might be corruption, replacing software or system F**startup and program from scratch might fix that.

I have little knowledge of Nortel system, but some of these suggestions really do not matter what system it is.
Have you tried resetting the system? Make a back up of the database. default the system and see if it still does not work. This will verify if it is hardware related. If it works at default, reload the database and test. If it fails it may be a corrupt database.

Really silly question, did you check to make sure the second amphenol on the ksu didn't get knocked out by accident?
