Have a MICS DR5 with Flash 2. Installed 8 POTS lines on a M7324 phone x221 for the reception. I have lines 1 - 4 set to Public and lines 5 - 8 set to Pool A. When the main number is dialed the call comes in fine but if a second call comes in it goes straight to voice mail for x221 instead of ringing on line 2 first for 4 rings. Any thoughts?

TIA
Steve Wiley

I have already tried changing the FWD on busy but I still get the same scenerio. I call the main line and it rings in on Line 1 of phone x221 but if the main line is called again it will come in on Line 2 but not ring but go directly to the voice mail box of x221.

Do you have DND turned on for that phone?

DO you have night service button on? line 2 may be programmed in night service this will make it roll to voice mail.

Do not disturb is off. I have not yet checked the Services/Ringing Service/Sched:Night yet though so I will reply with findings.

Try just dialing the number for line 2 while no one is on line 1 and see if it rings 221.

Yes, I can dial each POTS line numbers directly and it will ring the corresponding Line on phone x221. But if one of the POTS lines is busy the next call to come in will go to voice mail.

Are you sure 221 is prime to the Lines and not another phone?

Is 221 the only phone where these lines Appear & Ring?

Hawks, Lines 1 and 2 appear and ring on 5 other phones in the office. I did already try removing theses lines from the other phones but I get the same symptom.

Acewarlock, please refresh my data deluged mind on where I check to make sure 221 is Prime for the Lines.

On the Lines programming the control set should be set to 221 by default.

also to make sure lines are not some where else...easiest way to clean up is make line private to 1 set"prime set" log out of programming then go back into configuration and reassign to the sets again..this will eliminate any unkown places it may have been ringing

Remove line 2 from 221 and put it on another set and see what happens.

Are you getting the Flash AA or voice mail or are you getting the Phone Co. Voice mail. They might have the main line programed with forward busy to their VM.To check make line 1 busy call it when you get the VM dial ZERO see what you get.Iv'e seen where the customer records the same gretting in the system that they had in the PhCos VM.

Thanks for all the great replies and quickness guys. I think I have enough information to go on now but I will not be able to check until Monday so I will let you all know what I find. Thanks again.

Okay heres the scoop. I have changed the Capabilities Forward on busy and Forward no answer for x221 to None and the main lines now ring and hunt as they should. The problem now is that they will not be answered by voice mail after 4 rings nor will x221. If I change Forward on busy to x251(voicemail) then the main lines will stop hunting and go directly to voice mail again.

You should be able to have AA answer the lines after 4 rings. Then set the CFNA to VM after 4 rings. CF on Busy will send the calls that ring on 221 straight to VM when 221 is busy. That is the way it works.
