MICS external zone paging

I have an MICS and need to incorporate a Valcom 2003A, how do access the zones from there? It does not seem to respond.

It needs to receive DTMF from the PBX. What number is it set to receive?

What access code are you using? example (feature 631)

If your using zone paging your best bet is to put it on a trunk and give it a access code. It works like a champ

Newer releases of MICS did provide dtmf through page port, but to be safe, I usually use a trunk port, too.

I had this problem recently.

Found out if you do a Feature 6 3 0 (the customer wants to page all sets and overhead simultaneously) and then press 4 to tell the Valcom to page all zones. Or 1 for zone 1; 2 for zone 2; so on and so forth. 4 or 8 will page all zones via the Valcom.

So therefore a Feature 6 3 0 4 will page all the zones and the sets at the same time.

True, if you've got the valcom wired to a page port that'll pass dtmf. F6xy: x=sets/speakers/both, y=set zones.

If he's wired to a trunk port, he'll have to hit the line access code followed by the zone- 1,2,3, or 4 for all.

I set up a car dealership with 4 zones and 5 buttons on the recept phone then instructed the receptionist to press the zone page button (zone 1) then dial 1 (zone 2) then dial 2 etc. with feat F631, F632 etc programmed on the button followed by a manually punched number it activated the overhead as well as starting a page alert tone (the number dialed) for each page.
