The Installer guide should tell you. You just have to make sure you do not add or change any Hardware until after the Software upgrade is completed and tested. It should go somthing like this;
Back up system
Power Down
Put in New Software
Power System up and check programming.
Then if you need to add Hardware just power down system install new Hardware and power up system.
