I have a temp install where we have installed the MICS with 7.1 XC software, the install may eventually go over 80 analog lines and my installation guide indicates the max number of trunk modules with 2 fiber cards is 6. Is that accurate or was there any software release after 7.1 that would accommodate a 7th trunk module?

Your guide is accurate. You can attach a maximum of 6 trunk modules to the MICS. The trunk modules are always connected to the expansion cartridge in slot 2; they cannot be connected to the expansion cartridge in slot 1.

A MICS (with 2 analog trunk cartridges) and 6 trunk modules (with 18 analog trunk cartridges, 3 per module) would allow a maximum of 80 analog lines. To go beyond that, you would have to swap POTS for PRI or T1 (and, of course, replace some analog trunk cartridges by digital trunk interfaces).

7.1 is the latest software release.

You can install 3 PRI's on a MICS with R7.1. That would give you 69 lines and leave 5 fiber ports for analog trunk modules. Theoretically you can get up to 129 lines that way. Some guys on this forum have said you can install 4 PRI's on a MICS, but Nortel doesn't support this in the manuals.
