Hello,

I am trying to get two MICS with software 7.1 to do routing between sites using PSTN lines. I have lines on the other end that are set to Auto Answer. When they answer there is no dial tone, and no matter what digits I dial it does not go to an extension. After a short period of time it gives me a fast busy and hangs up.

I have the offices dialing each other ok, but the auto-answer portion is not working. It does answer the call, but then seems to do nothing. Even if I call the line directly, it answers, but then goes no where. Help!!!! Any ideas? I could not find any useable info in the Nortel manual for the MICS that would tell me what was wrong.

Thanks in advance.

I set answer with DISA to Y, and I set answer with DISA to No and there is no difference in how it acts.

If you are using DISA on the CICS you also have to assign a target line to each local you want to call. I did this and used the same number as the local for the received digts and then assigned each target line to ring only on the appropriate set. You can use appear and ring also if you got alot of spare buttons on the set.

I think you need either a service or combo card in the system. This provides the DTMF needed for Auto Answer Trunks.

Sorry I was on the wrong switch everything is the same except you dont need the DTMF receivers they are built into the CISs
