Is this a glitch cause I set this up all the time usually on 6.1 or higher and it works all the time.
No.
MICS 6.1 MR and later
There is an option to choose whether calls are logged by line or by set: System Programming > Feature Settings > Call Log.
When the value is set to "Line", you can choose on which lines the calls can be logged: Terminals & Sets > [Set] > Telco Features > Feature Assignment > [Line] > Call Log Set. The lines available under the Feature Assignment heading are the assigned lines, whether they "Appear & Ring", "Appear Only" or "Ring Only".
When the value is set to "Set", there is no choice. As a result, the "Call Log Set" setting doesn't exist. All the calls that ring the set are logged. This includes assigned lines that "Appear & Ring" and "Ring Only", Answer DNs that "Appear & Ring" and calls that have been forwarded from another set.
MICS 6.0 and 6.1
There is no option. Calls are logged as if the "Set" option described previously was chosen.
MICS 5.0 and earlier
There is no option. Calls are logged as if the "Line" option described previously was chosen.

All of the phones have no line appearances on them.

Every time I try to program call logs on these phones it states "no lines assigned".
On MICS 4.1, in order for a set to automatically log calls, lines must be assigned to that set.

Some of the DN's actually will allow me to set the log space.
As long as there is free space in the log pool, log space can always be allocated to a set. This allows a set to use the Log It feature (Feature 813) and manually log the active call.
