nortel MICS 0x32 DR3.0 with m7310 phones are not allowing user to press Feature *1 and Program a external auto dial button.
We have tried several phones m7310 and m7324 existing and replacement brought from
Our office.
We installed a replacement 0x32 with 4.1 software and tested in our office.
We had 7-7324 phones in 5-7310 phones hooked up to the system in our office
We were able to perform a start up on the system and program the phones no problem we went to each phone and programmed several external auto dial buttons using the feature star one method under the phone number and press OK and then confirm it by pressing feature stars zero and press the button and it verifies the number is there On that button.
When we purchased the line and then the external speed dial button it worked with no problems in her office
We took the system out to the customer site replaced it tried to program the system and ran into the same problem the system will not allow us to program feature star one and the extranal phone number but we can program anything else whether it's an internal speed dial or feature on the buttons.
Rebooted the system, expansion modules but no change. The phone is not locked or restricted in programming.
Any thoughts?

So tell exactly what the issue is beside you cant program it.
Do you not get one of many errors reported to you on the display?
or
It lets you program but when using it it does nothing?

"When we purchased the line and then the external speed dial button it worked with no problems in her office"
What exactly does that mean?

Do they have a RAD on site and/or is somebody in config or admin programming when somebody is trying to program auto dials as that wont work.

There is only 1 tech on site programming with a phone. There is no rad on this system

When programming an external autodial on the telephone we press feature *1 on phone then press the button we want to program And enter the number and press OK.

The phone acts as if it has accepted the entry but when we do feature *0 and press the button it is blank. Does not mater what button we try to program

The Norstar will accept an internal auto dial or a feature code just not an external number. We have had 3-techs on-site and they all report the same problem.

We replaced the Norstar 0x32 system ksu, software and combo card but no change.
Rebooted system, expansion modules but no change.

Performed another **startup to default the system and start from scratch, same problem. System is on dedicated isolated ground circuit with APC battery backup system. I can't believe that 2-completely different 0x32 systems with different software versions and phones from our office are bad.

Ok, does the 3.0 work on your bench?

Maybe connect a spare amp with only one phone on it and test.
If works then maybe some set is wreaking havoc.

The system works fine on our bench and the system also works fine when we take it to the customer site, connect a single amp cable with one phone on the 66 punch block.
Once we connect the customers expansion modules with the telephones that's when we have problems.

Looks like we need to disconnect each of the customers phones then one by one add a phone and try to program a external number on s button and see what happens.

I've never seen this type of an issue.

Thank you for the support and will keep you posted.

Cheers!

Sounds to me you have an issue with one of the expansion module, not the ksu itself.
