I've had a scanmaker x12 scanner that has worked fine as long as I've had XP installed on my computer. The other day I would get an Filescan.mfc error when trying to acquire an image. After almost an hour of messing around with it I used XP's compatibility feature to run the program in win 95/98 mode. After doing this the scanner worked fine. I'm rather curious why this happened in the first place. No new software was installed. Uninstalling and reinstalling the scanner driver and software were ineffective in resolving the problem. I can even run it in compatiblity mode for 2000 and everthings ok. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
