hello,
i am trying to fix a PC for a friend, the motherboard is a microstar ms-6147 and his harddisk stopped operating ( you can hear it stopping to spin ) around 1min after boot-up rendering it useless!
so i ordered a 40GB IBM Deskstar as a replacement...
install disk and in BIOS settings the new harddisk cannot be detected in any way, i upgraded it to latest BIOS and still no hope not that it would matter anyway
so tried IBM disk in my PC and was detected no bother!!!
so tried my PC's IDE cable and IBM drive in the problem PC and still no hope pointing to a possible flaw with the actual motherboard but not sure!!!
so i hope the old 'faulty hard disk' is not in the bin as i gave it to him and told him it was rubbish because i should have tried it in my own PC!!!!
HELP ME!
