Thanks Brad for your help that works, but I can only open word using the run line. How I fix it to where I can use he icon on my desktop to open a blank doc.

What could be happening is like gargouille posted in the other post is your normal.dot template is corrupted. If you rename it to normal.old it will recreate itself once you try to open Word again. Search for that file on your Local hard drive. If that doesn't work have you already tried to /unregserver or /regserver? That will also delete all templates, macros, and user settings. From the run line type "winword.exe /unregserver". Then do the same steps only type /regserver in the place of unregserver. -Brad
