Everytime I try to open my word app. a Run-time error pops up with a long digit number and the it says
"Method 'PasteFace'of object'_CommandBarButton'failed"
What does this mean and how do I fix it thanks

Are you opening an exsiting Word doc or a blank doc? One thing you can try is go to the run line and type "winword.exe /a" without quotes. That will disable any macros when word opens. Then try going to file, open, and browse to the doc. If it does not open that way one last resort you can try is "winword.exe /unregserver" and then type "winword.exe /regserver". Be aware that using /unregserver and /regserver will delete all personal settings that have been created. It also removes all start up macros and templates that you've created. -Brad

I see you got a good suggestion from Brad...but I took the trouble to look this up so here's what I found:

From a find at groups.google.com:

<<Hi Gavin...

This error is related to a macro that is not functioning properly when it tries to access information when you open Word.

There are two main reasons for this error. First...you may have gotten a virus. Second...you may have recently installed some addin for Word that has become corrupt.

So the first thing you need to do is rule out a virus. Do you have a good macro antivirus program running all the time? Scan your system! Is your system clean?

If so...try renaming the default template since that's where macros are kept. If Word opens with a new, clean template...then you can assume something in the old one is causing the problem. To do this...locate your NORMAL.DOT file and rename it to NORMAL.OLD. Then reopen Word and a new default will be created. Does that solve the problem?

If not...you can stop any addins from loading by opening Word with a /a switch added to the end of the winword.exe command. Add a space and then /a and try opening Word. This halts any addins. Did that fix the problem?

some snippoed!

Good luck!
