Microsoft word not able to print from dialog box multiple pages

Office 2003 SP2. Trying to print from word, selecting file from the menu bar and open and then select multiple word documents and select print. Now receive the command cannot be performed because a dialog box is open. Click ok, and then close open dialog box to continue. This box never came up before. I was always able to do this and now can't until I click on ok and eventually it will print. Is there a way to remove this so that I don't get this box that comes up everytime I print this way. I am in production and need the fastest way to be able to print without any delays.

Two options (may be):

If you have Norton anti-virus running, disable Office plug-in.

Or

Select your files, go to Tools drop-down (top-right) and choose print.

That worked. I don't have norton's. Have Macafee. What changed?
