Hi,

this is probably a really basic question but i just can't see how to resolve it.

When inserting dates such as 19th June, Microsoft Word has stopped making the 'th' bit into small letters.

i'm not sure what this function is called and i have done several searches and still have not found where this feature should be turned on.

can anyone help?

They are called ordinals and Word generally turns them into superscript.

You can turn this on and off via 'Autoformat as you type' tab of the Autocorrect dialog box which is in version 2007 accessed by clicking the Autocorrect Options button on the Proofing tab of Word Options.

In previous versions, is in the Tools menu.

Hi Lilliabeth,

that's perfect thanks. I forgot to mention that I had the 2003 version so i found the Autocorrect options in the tools menu just as you said.

Thanks for your help.
