I recently installed a PostScript Type 1 font on a PC (Akzidenz Grotesk), and for some reason, Word 2000 isn't displaying it in the pulldown font menu.

Please help. Thanks in advance.

Which operating system is installed on this computer?

Windows 2000 Professional is the operating system.

Office 2000 is the office program.

I found a way around it, but I would like to know what the real solution is.

Turns out, when I tried to 'Install New Font', and selected the Akzidenz, it would give me a message about the license not being able to convert to TrueType. All of my other machines didn't give the conversion message, because they simply took it as a PostScript Type 1 font. After I got the message, the font installer would just throw the fonts into the font folder and call it good, which of course, caused it to not show up in word.

So, the problem is with the PS Type 1 font not installing correctly. Which should be a built in feature of Windows 2000
