This tiny window does give you the opportunity to select one sort of paste as default. But I've already done this, and the window with its icons always appears again, often getting in the way of something I want to work on.

The Esc key gets rid of it, but it is irritating to have to do this each time. Any fix?

My Word is not English, so the translation s may not be 100% correct but you'll surely find it:

File => Options
=>Advanced
Scroll down to "cut, copy, and paste"
At the four consecutive checkboxes, uncheck the "show control for paste options upon pasting content"

And your uncles name be Bob.

Awesome! I've always wondered this, but just never tried to disable it. Thanks for sharing, MakeItSo!
