Will CCC run on a Microsoft Windows® Small Business Server 2003 R2, Standard Edition OS?

I just double checked the Docs.

Tip 198: Minimum PC Specification required for IP Office Applications:

Notes:

6.Windows Small Business Server 2003 is supported for the same applications as Windows 2003 Server.

tourpro, dont know if you have put in many ccc systems or if this is a big site but take good advice here and dont let customer persuade you to share sbs with ccc and prob vmpro, stand your ground, it will 100% become an issue at some stage, sooner or later. dedicated server2003 is the only way.

we have put in a few of these SBS servers and all of them have had issues and we have pulled them out. we also have had issues where a customer has a SBS server and we put in standard server 2003 and had issues with theirs on the network.

may be that was something that has changed, the last time i tried was in 4.0, have not tried on 4.1.

Trust me i have tried installing CCC more than once on Windows 2003 Small Business Server and it would never work. I would contact your distributor and ask them. if they say yes have them sign a piece of paper saying that it will work with small business before actually doing it.

Thanks for the heads up. People just trying to save a buck.

Are you running full CCC or just trying to run Delta server? if its just delta server it can be run on SBS, even if SBS is running ISA.

By default the Delta Server service uses TCP port 8080 the same as ISA server. This can be changed if desired by adding a new String Value named "HTTPPort" with its value set to the required port number 8082 usually works for me.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Avaya\CCCServer\Setup

Our training room pcs are all SBS servers.

2003 SBS is supported the same as 2003 server as you have stated.

I think the R2 thing is relevant here, you need to make sure your CCC is the latest version for this to work.

I apprec everybody comments on the fact that this may not work and i am not contradicting you. i think it will work ok personally.

This is a general comment on Windows 2003 with SP2 and can relate to R2 servers, both SBS and normal.

My primary role is a Microsoft Consultant and with this we have hit many problems with networking issues with SP2, or the network roll up patch for sp1.

One thing to note is a problem with the network stack and NIC card packet offloading which we have seen kill networking on servers. see KB936594.

DPEP has also kill call status on a cople of servers so I have had to turn this off.

If you are running on an SBS server download and run the Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003 Best Practices Analyzer, this tells you what needs to be fixed in terms of any networking stack issues you may be having.
