I am a VB programmer and I'm thinking about learning C. What are the differences between Microsoft and Borlands compilers?

Which would you suggest?

There are a few differences between Borland and Microsoft!! If you're thinking about VB vs. C/C++ then it's the power, C/C++ can do much more then VB! And if you're think about VC++ (microsofts' C/C++ compiler), then I would say that Borland is somewhat easier to use when programing GUI Win32 (windows) applications!
Though both are powerfull I would say that Borland is my first choice! Martin G Broman

Just some thoughts . . . Borland can use MS's MFC and also has it's own VCL (Visual Component Library). Borland's compiler is more standard compliant than MS's but the STL libraries that come with Borland (from Rogue Wave) are not as compliant as MS's (from Dinkum Software) You can, however, buy other third party's libraries. Borland is RAD (Rapid Application Developement) which makes it more like VB than Visual C++. Borland is also porting their C++ Builder to Linux so you can build program for both Windows and Linux.
