I have a question about this. I have seen several posts that hint on this subject, but no real answer on if this can be done.

Here is my setup. I have a flowpoint 2200 router/firewall with a full-time DSL connection. I would like to keep this solution in place. I have investigated the IPSec add-on for the flowpoint, but I don't want to add a 3rd party IPSec piece to have the flowpoint as the VPN Server. (Thanks to Cisco and thier VPN, AOL Dialup Adapter acting, wouldn't want to support this software on a company wide solution, client)

So with that said, I would like a Microsoft W2K VPN Server inside the flowpoint that can server up VPN Clients. Since it won't have a direct link with the Internet I wouldn't have a need for two Nics. However, the requirements for the Microsoft VPN solution requires two Nics. Is it possible to put a MS Loop-back adapter as the second Nic? Does anyone have a solution like this in place that they could give some specifics on?

Anything would be a great help...and thanks in advance.

you don't need 2 nics to set up a VPN solution in Win2K !
I've set it up several times using only 1 nic...
the only thing you will have to take into account is port forwarding on your router...
when using PPTP, you will have to forward TCP 1723 and IP protocol 47 to the Network card of your server...
that's it...

And don't forget : IPSec does not work through a NAT device... might be interesting as well... good luck ---------------------------------------------------------------------
I have not failed, I've just found 10,000 ways that don't work

Hey thanks for the info. I thought about IPSect, but the need for that for what I am doing is not there. Thanks again.
