Pl let me know what maximum number of of tables and records I can have, if I am using Microsoft SQL 2000. (I would expect to have 0.5 million tables and 1 million records)

Check the capacity specifications at
The maximum number of tables in a database is 2 billion less the number of other objects in the database. .5 million tables seems highly unusual. It would seem to be a maintenance nightmare! Terry L. Broadbent

I agree with Terry .5 million tables for 1 million records just doesn't seem right. I can't think of any reason why you would want that kind of setup and would have a serious think about your database schema.
