Hi all,
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this question, but this looked the closest. I have my old Sidewinder FF Pro hooked up and working on my Win XP system, but in all the games that I play (Lock-On Modern Air Combat for example) the tension is set to the stiffest setting, so to play at all, I have to unplug the power, then the joystick has no tension at all, so I was wondering if anyone knew of software--that works under XP--That would allow me to edit the force feedback settings for the stick, Thanks.

Well I appreciate you trying, Linney, but what I said in my post is that I wanted software that would decrease the tension. I had to unplug the joystick from the power outlet because the tension was set to high, and that is why there was no tension on it.

You use the Forces tab in the SideWinder software to adjust the joystick's settings for force feedback level and return-to-center tension.

The Force Feedback Level refers to the joystick's response to elements in your game, such as explosions, G-forces, or gun recoils. You can adjust the intensity of the feedback forces, or turn off feedback forces.

The Return To Center Tension refers to the force required for you to move the joystick in either direction. Increasing this tension makes it harder to move the joystick. The return-to-center tension is used primarily by games that don't have force feedback.

Could you provide a link to a place where I can download the sidewinder software for XP, the software that came with it only works on 98. Incidentally, I use the Sidewinder Force Feedback pro not the Sidewinder Force Feedback 2
