We occasionally receive the following error message on our Windows SBS 2003 Server R2 server:
Microsoft.SBS.UpdateServices.SyncSecurity.exe - Application Error

The associated text is:
The instruction at "0x7c82caa2" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program

I searched in the Event Viewer for "0x7c82caa2" and found the following in the System Log:

Source: Application Popup
Category: None
Type: Information
Event ID: 26
Description:
Application popup: Microsoft.SBS.UpdateServices.SyncSecurity.exe - Application Error : The instruction at "0x7c82caa2" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be "read".

Click on OK to terminate the program

That link led me to A search there led me to where I found:

Details
Product: Windows Operating System
ID: 26

Symbolic Name: status_log_hard_error
Message: Unable to Load Device Driver : device driver could not be loaded.

Explanation: The program could not load a driver because the program user doesn't have sufficient privileges to access the driver or because the drive is missing or corrupt.

User Action
To correct this problem: Reinstall the program to restore the driver to the correct location.

So I am no further ahead!

Any ideas on what is causing this ... and how to fix it!

Thanks very much,
