Microsoft Publisher Dilemma:

Subj: HELP!!

I'm using Microsoft Publisher 2007 on a Vista x 86 platform. To sum up my unique publishing needs, I am trying to print out a small booklet with the dimensions 2.2x1.6inches (HeightxWidth) for nefarious purposes. ;)
I completed the Page Setup. I’m trying to complete this printing task on an A4-size paper and with the comparitively small size of a single page, approximately 40 mini-pages can be included in a single A4 page. So I typed out a TEST .pub file with 40 pages and accordingly created a test box in each of these pages with the text content being the page number typed out repetitively.
Ran the Design Checker.
Print Setup:
Now comes the ******* messed up part:- The Print Preview:Only the First page with the text 1111 and the last page with the text 40 40 40 are being printed. I tried the two sided printing option. And the second page when output to a pdf:
How can I get the printed page to read as:-
Side 1: Side 2:
The publisher page layout is and instead of that, I need the layout to be As you can see, just the Page 40|Page 1 on the Top-left hand side of the publisher page layout is correct. And instead of showing Page 38|Page 3 on the top right hand side,
the Page 40|Page 1 is repeated over and over till the entire page is covered.

I need to rectify that repetition and proceed with the printing of the other pages in the order: as only then can I make the booklet and I need only 1 copy.

The final result of the booklet would look something like: (Page 1)
(Pages 12 and 13)

I’m an uber-n00b with this guys. Any help would be greatly, hugely and dearly appreciated! Thanks for reading.

Hi,

I believe that booklet programs are designed to make booklets using the paper size as the booklet size, or with a half fold.

You want to make a 40-page bookelt on ONE SHEET of paper. AFAIK, you will NOT get automatic page numbering!.

Some 15 years ago, I constructed a 32-page booklet on an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet, only the way I did it was that after I printed it, I folded the sheet 4 times, and stapled on the last fold and then trimmed the top, bottom and side opposite the fold. Meaning that I had to ROTATE some of my textboxes 90[sup]o[/sup]. I manually numbered the page for each textbox. BTW, I printed 500, folded, staples, trimmed WITH a card-stock cover, to make an advertising piece for personalized childrens books.

So it CAN be done, but NOT automatically!

Thank you for replying SkipVought.. Greatly, hugely and dearly appreciated! Is there any way I can add ur rep or something because I really appreciate it?

As you said, i eventually realised its not possible to do this automatically and the method that you suggested would be a logistics nightmare :)
And to answer my own question, enter Microsoft Publisher 2010. Its got an advanced Print option which might just tailor to my "unique" ;) needs.

Thanks again for helping. Appreciate it.

unfortunately I have 2007.

What is the step sequence that you use to get to the 2010 "advanced Print option."
