Microsoft Publisher 98

Try backing up your system, uninstalling Publisher and then reinstalling it. Sounds like a lot of work for something as simple as connecting text boxes but, assuming you have already exhausted the simple solutions, e.g. copying the text to the clipboard, deleting the object(s), creating a new text box, pasting the original text in the box and clicking "autoflow" when prompted, then you may have more serious problems you simply haven't discovered yet.
