Microsoft Project Conversion

I am trying to convert projects from excel spreadsheets into MSPS. I am doing this in two phases using a predefined template. The tasks are merging appropriately based on the merge key, but the resources (assignments)are not mappinng correctly. Have you encountered this problem? If so, how was it resolved?

Any advice will be appreciated.
