Hi all,
I've noticed in the past few days that my microsoft products like, I.E., sql manager, excel, etc. are acting very slow. This occurs when I.E. is first opened. Instead of popping up to the cached home page, it sits there and chews for 30 to 45 seconds, and then opens the page.

In sql manager, when you open the Open file dialog, it again takes 30 -45 seconds to open. Likewise, if you cancel that dialog box, it takes a long time to close.

Does anyone know if this is from an update, or what it could be that has changed on the network?

Also, it's not just me computer, but all computers on the network.

Strangely enough, I opened photoshop, and it's file dialog snapped right open when I clicked on open file.

Thanks for any and all responses.

Are there any clues in the Event Viewers? Does the Server need rebooting to freshen it up?

Anything useful in these?

Are there any drive mappings which have become unavailable?
For some reason MS open dialog likes to interrogate all logical drives, and locks up until timeout on drives mapped to shares which are invalid.

In the case of IE try disabling add-ins selectively to look for slow loaders.
