I am trying to print a presentation. There are fourteen slides in the presentation and they all print fine with the exception of one. It is a map of the US, it has all the state abbreviations within the respective states. The problem with this presentation is that it prints fine from some client machines running XP Pro and others it prints nothing in the states i.e no state abbreviations. The programs are all setup the same way they all print to the same network printers. When you try to print the slide from some machines it prints perfect, the others it prints the map fine but instead of the state abreviations it looks like there are two periods(..) instead of the state abbreviation. I spent most of today searching and researching this and came up empty. Any help would be appreciated.

I'd guess that it is a missing font file on that particular computer.

Try changing the font and send.

Hi dmz...

You can try using the Pack N Go feature on the File menu. This will pack the presentation with all its fonts so if you travel to a new PC, it will already have the necessary fonts it needs to be viewed or printed.

Not a font issue. I have tried changing the fonts, it makes no difference. I thought if anything would work on the fonts issue it would be the Pack N Go, same result. The presentation is on the network, it prints fine on some machines and on a couple (of course they are the users) it prints fine with the exception of the one slide. They did use a program within this one slide called smart draw, I have tried changing some settings there as well without success. Thanks for your suggestions, if you have any more I would be glad to hear them. Thanks Again!

I have also installed all the extra's that can possibly be loaded from the Office XP installation CD. Still no luck.

dmz740,

What is the font name used for the state abbreviations?

If you can, change it some something common, like Arial.

Something else to try, (on a copy of your main pres.)
select the map, draw menu > ungroup > if it looks the same, then try printing.

Cheers
