In our standard desktop envirenment we have a couple 3rd party applications that use custom form's in Microsoft Outlook. When a user access this on a normal PC the forms open up fine. When I access these forms on Our Citrix Server Consolem, the work fine. But when we try and launch it through an ICA Remote Session we get this error:

Custom Form Could not Be opened.

Has anyone come across this error messege and does anyone know how to fix it.

Thanks
Bryan

If you have not done it, copy c:\wtsrv\forms to the c:\wtsrv\profiles\%username%\windows\ see if it works.
Good luck

How where would you copy it to on a Win2k Server?

If the Win2K Server is your citrix server and if the applications that use Outlook forms were published as Explicit application (meaning user will have to have account to log on, not as anonymous) You should find the user profiles in %windir%\profiles\%UserName%\ the Windows directory where you want to copy the Forms directory to will be in there.
From your message ..Custom Form Could not Be opened... I just thought it might have been because it could not find any form, if we suply it with some forms, it might work.
I think it is worth the try.

In Windows 2000 the user profiles are normally located under the c:\documents and settings folder if the computer is not an upgraded NT 4 server. Here you will find a folder for each users profile. Try to copy the forms-folder to the windows folder there.
Hope this helps

We have just implemented Citrix into a Windows 2000 network and have come accross a problem when setting up a citrix profile using Microsoft Outlook 2000. We have set Outlook as the default mail manager, but it will not save this setting and keeps coming back up once we load Oulook via citrix, it says: Oulook is currently not your default manager for Mail, News, Calendar, and Contacts. Would you like to register Outlook as the default manager? we say yes, but it comes back again once we try to run Outlook again. Can anyone help????

You have to log on as administrator and change these settings. After that the question shouldn't appear anymore ofr the users.
Hope this helps

It must be a permissions issue. Try logging with Regmon from sysinternals to see which keys in the registry that the user gets access denied on when he tries to change these settings. You can find the file on They also have filemon which does the same thing only for files instead.

Log in as an administrator, go to a DOS prompt and run "change user /install", launch Outlook and configure how you wish (click yes for default mail client), close Outlook, and run "change user /execute" from DOS prompt. This will make the registry changes you made by configuring it apply to all users who have NOT already logged on to the server and accessed Outlook. You will have to delete the profiles of those who have and let them recreate for it to apply to existing profiles. This will not work with a mandatory profile. You would have to change it and save the new profile as the mandatory profile. Hope this helps.
